Nearly 200 students at the Anglia Ruskin university Freshers' Fair on Tuesday signed the Lib Dem petition to scrap tuition fees and many backed the establishment of a Lib Dem Students Society at the university.

The Lib Dem stall at the fair was organised by Youth & Student branch chair Neville Booth and 2005 parliamentary candidate Stephen Robinson. Said Neville, "We were delighted at the interest shown in the Liberal Democrats. Yet again, we were the only political party that showed an interest in students by attending the fair."
